Motorhome Hire Germany - Useful Information
Q. How can I figure out the total cost of renting a motorhome?
A. The easiest way is to use the Quote/Book engine on our website; it can be found on every page. Simply choose a pick up and drop off with dates and the berth size required. If you do not get a quotation read the error message for information as to why a quotation was not generated. Such reasons include a minimum rental period, eg 7 days minimum rental outside of high season. In high season, normally July and August (this varies between different areas in Germany), the minimum rental period is 14 days rental. You can in all instances hire a campervan in Germany for a shorter period but you must pay the minimum rental period. Please note there is no service on a Sunday in Germany.
Q. Is it possible to travel to other countries outside of Germany.
A. Yes you can travel to all countries within the European Union including Switzerland. On request you may also travel to some East European countries; please specify whem making your booking if you wish to travel to countries outside the EU.
Q. I would like to pick up in Frankfurt and drop back the Campervan in Munich, is that possible?
A. No, this is not possible, as all the depots in Germany are independent of each other and you must pick up and drop back to the same depot within Germany.
Q. Where can I pick up and drop off the vehicle?
A. When you use our quotation and booking engine, there is a list of pick up locations on the drop down menu. When you choose your pickup location, the list of drop off locations will change to show all available drop off locations. In most cases you will have to get a taxi to the Motorhome depot these are normally located outside the city centre. In all instances in Germany you must pick up from the depot there are no deliveries to airports or other locations.
Q. Can I get information about the Depots?
A. We will give you the depot address and collection details in your confirmation. As we have several different suppliers servicing some locations we may have to try several for availability.
Q. What happens when I pick up the motorhome?
A. You will be given an introductory course on how to use the Motorhome e.g. how to empty the toilet , how to start up the water heater etc.and it is important that you inspect the vehicle and sign off on any marks found, to avoid any damage charges when you return the vehicle.
Q. What happens when I drop off the motorhome?
A. The vehicle will be inspected for any damage and the supplier will help you to arrange a taxi to your required location. Please allow at least an hour or two to complete this service, especially if you have early flights in the morning.
Q. What time can I pick up and drop off my vehicle?
A. Normal pick up times are in the afternoon 1400 hours to 1700 hours and drop back in the morning between 0900 and 1100 hours. Pick up and drop off outside of these hours is not possible as the depot will be closed.
